If the hub works but the pad doesn't seem to cool or heat up properly, it may be due to a poor connection or a blockage. To resolve this issue, try disconnecting the tube from the hub with the release button on the bottom of the hub. Check all of your O-rings and make sure there are no damaged or missing ones. Then turn the unit sideways with the Cube connector turned upward toward the ceiling and, with the weight of its body, push the pad connector into the hub, making sure you have a solid, straight connection.
This may be due to a poor connection or a blockage. When I go to bed, the pad is cold, not icy. However, as the night progresses, I feel that my body temperature is warming the water more than the chilipad unit can cool the water. I usually wake up a few hours later a little sticky because I'm hot and the chili pad also increases the humidity.
It is at this time that I cannot sleep again and I have to go to sleep in another room because the bed is no longer comfortable. Note that one of the screws we need to remove is under the QC Passed label. If it's still under warranty and you don't want ChiliTechnology to feel sorry for messing with something you own, slide a razor under the QC Passed label and store it by parking it on one of the other stickers on the cube. Note that there is actually a third fan in each unit to cool the power supply (and the pump?).
Yes, memory foam is comfortable, but it is often considered to be very warm, ChiliPad will be very effective in adjusting the temperature of the sleeping surface to a comfortable level. So yes, although this is something to prove, the intention of this post was to see if other chilipad owners had a similar experience. I just bought a Chilipad bucket and the first night I used it I wasn't too impressed by how cool it was. I've also been asked to lower the temperature in the room, but that seems counterproductive to what the chilipad is supposed to do.
I spoke to the Chilipad support and they made me check the pad for kinks (which there are none I can detect). I guess I don't understand why people get excited about chilipad. I have had such a disappointing product experience. Memory foam (heat-activated memory foam) will continue to provide the support benefit, but it is commonly known to retain heat, so the ChiliPad is ideal for cooling off on this common type of mattress.
I ordered it because I liked the chilipad, but since this one looked new and was within the return window, I decided to change to it.
