What is the chilipad device?

The chilipad sleep system is a mattress that connects, through a long, flat tube, to a cube that regulates temperature. To use it, pour water into the bucket (more details about it in a moment) and adjust the temperature from a dial on the cube or a remote control that comes with it. The cube's temperature range is 55 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit (or 13 to 43 degrees Celsius), so you can make it colder or warmer while you sleep. The cube is where the magic happens, heating and cooling the water (depending on what the user wants when they sleep), before pumping the temperature-controlled water through the tube into the pad, which is filled with smaller silicone tubes.

And while technically not mandatory, the use of distilled water can prevent sediment build-up inside the Chilipad tubes. I could go as an engineer and talk about the use of energy in watts converted into BTUs in cooling, talk about the BTUs in the heat released by the body, the volume of water that flows through the chilipad, the measured temperature of the water that enters and the water that comes out, etc. For example, I have used my chilipad half king on a king size bed in my master bedroom and a queen size mattress in my guest room. The Chilipad is an ideal solution for hot sleepers because there aren't many effective ways to keep you cool at night, especially on the surface of the mattress where your body will trap heat.

It's not necessary, but if you choose to use a mattress protector, be sure to place it under the Chilipad instead of on top of it to maintain the best possible cooling performance. While the materials and construction of Chilipad and OOLER are similar, there are some clear differences that separate these models. Budget-conscious buyers who don't require as many features may be attracted by the Chilipad's lower price. Once you have all the supplies you need, place your Chilipad on top of your mattress and continue to make the bed as you normally would.

The OOLER control unit also has an automatic cleaning function, while the Chilipad requires a monthly manual cleaning. Ultimately, the setup seemed quite simple to me, but it comforts the fact that every Chilipad comes with a user manual. As it is available in full or medium size, the Chilipad is suitable for single or couple use. I already sleep with a white noise machine, so I just turned it off and relied on the buzz of the Chilipad.

It's not huge, but if you already have things like a dehumidifier, fan or heater in your room, adding the Chilipad cube could create a messy look. Buyers should pay close attention to the materials and construction of the Chilipad before buying, as it does not work like other mattress toppers. Because the Chilipad is thin, it can be used on a mattress without affecting the contour properties of the mattress.
